Bollywood bombshell Bipasha Basu still wants to go on a date with Indian boxer Vijender Kumar even though he hasn’t won the promised Olympic gold, but bronze medal.
The actress has been following the Beijing games closely and was quite a sport when Vijender reportedly expressed his desire to go on a date with her if he won a gold medal.
Sadly, Vijender had to settle for bronze but he has still provided the much-needed shot in the arm for Indian boxing by putting it on international platform. And Bipasha is happy at the boy’s success.
She says she would love to meet him and spend an evening with him but it would not be like a romantic date as media has been painting, but “an evening with a fan”.
Vijender on his part seems a bit shy about going on a date with Bipasha. He has told a news daily that Bipasha already has a boyfriend. So he can’t go on a date with her.
MOUNTAIN OUT OF A MOLEHILL
Meanwhile, certain news channels on television have gone overboard in creating a love story out of the whole issue. One channel even morphed images of Vijender and John in a boxing ring, fighting (obviously) for Bipasha.
Another channel continuously played the song “Kaun Banega Lucky Boy” from Bipasha’s latest film Bachna Ae Haseeno and labeled Vijender as the lucky one.
Bipasha says she is having a laugh over all the hype that’s been created out of her casual and harmless comment.
